How We Work
At My Little Friend Building Preschool, we are dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children. Our unique programs incorporate a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning. The educational programs at My Little Friend Building Preschool were created with our children’s needs in mind: to mature and develop in a safe yet stimulating environment. Take a look below to learn more about each program.
Spanish Immersion Program
Hola...At MLFB we speak in Spanish! Each family that arrives with the expectation of acquiring information and wanting their children to be educated learning Spanish as a second language finds in our program the opportunity to do so in a respectful and gradually acquired way. Our Staff are Spanish speaking and offer enriching activities in Español. Studies have shown that exposure to a second language in early childhood has many benefits on children's development and cognition. It has been proven that problem-solving skills, better working memory and greater capacity for abstract thinking, among others, are the benefits that children acquire from exposure to a second language. Having the opportunity to experience a foreign language environment also broadens children's multicultural awareness, stimulates their curiosity about other parts of the world, and fosters an appreciation for understanding multiple points of view.

"Los Pequeños" Infants Classroom

"Los Exploradores" Toddler Classroom
Our Toddler classroom has a safe design that creates our little ones the freedom to explore and learn in the different areas of blocks, science, social studies, dramatic play, science, art. "Los Constructores" Preschool Classroom
This group is young preschoolers, they carry out guided and free activities putting into practice their knowledge and development in linguistic, socio-emotional, cognitive and physical development by participating in enriching conversations and activities every day! "Los Amigos" Preschool Classroom
The group of "los amigos" are the older children of the school, who have already gone through the other classrooms participating and acquiring knowledge and skills. They are ready to go to Kindergarten! Visit our program for more details about the routine and program!
Music Experiences
As a program we ensure that each child has space for the development of linguistic, physical, emotional and social skills and we recognize the importance and effect that music has. MLFB has a professional music teacher with a background in music, performance and education.
Montessori Experiences
As a program that serves early childhood we are concerned about the teaching and learning methodology, we are based on the one that is best supported through exploration, interest, that develops critical thinking in each child and that this can create knowledge and practical life skills. All activities are based on a methodological balance. At MLFB we have a special space called Salon Montessori, where we practice every day the formation of this, along with the directed and thematic activities that take place every day through child-directed play with other children, creative activities, free play time and caring and understanding teachers.
Art Lessons
Our art activities are planned by certified teachers offering integrated and enriching activities. Developing their emotions, fine muscles, cognition and language in each activity offered.
Gym
We have available for each group its free indoor play space to work the large muscles. Always ready in our Gym free shoe zone!
Mission
Unique and Valuable
As teachers we set up intentional play activities and
explorations that meet the needs of individual students. We
question and extend their thinking and play to help them learn
and grow. We provide high quality education and care for
every student who comes into our classroom. We intentionally
plan and organize the classroom so students have the
opportunity to develop in the areas of social emotional, life
skills, language and literacy, math, science, creative arts, fine
motor, and gross motor. It is our goal for students to develop
the dispositions and skills to become lifelong learners and be
successful in kindergarten and life both socially and
academically.
